Competition between foreign and Russian transport companies will allow Olgales Company to save money

<yandex:full-text> VLADIVOSTOK, September 1, vladivostoktimes.com Olga sea port, Primorye, is open for foreign ships,as ordered by the RF Prime Minister Vladimir PUTIN. But in fact, foreign ships will be allowed to call at Olga only in few months, as RIA PrimaMedia reports. As Olga port administration reported to RIA PrimaMedia, "real port opening for foreign ships demands extra procedures which can take several months. Russian ships’ freight is very expensive for the company and there is an opportunity to attract foreign ships which will be less expensive. Local transportation companies will have to reduce their prices because of the competition." The main type of cargo imported via Olga port is lumber but there is a chance that with foreign ships there will be import of ores, coal, and cars. The port now has new berths, three cranes, and there are deep places good for navigation, so now the port is able to serve more volumes of cargo.</yandex:full-text>

Primorye Antimonopoly Service Shows Interest in Soaring Gasoline Prices

At some Primorye gas stations the gasoline price per liter increased by 20 kopecks during the week

<yandex:full-text> VLADIVOSTOK, August 27, vladivostoktimes.com The Federal Antimonopoly Service shows the interest in the soaring gasoline prices. As the Primorsky Territory Department of Federal Antimonopoly Service reports to RIA PrimaMedia, during the week the increase in retail prices was only fixed at the gas stations belonging to RN-Vostoknefteproduct Company Ltd. The gasoline price per liter has increased by 20 kopecks; the Primorsky Territory Department of Federal Antimonopoly Service has some doubts about the validity of this rise in the price and is verifying the fact. The relevant inquiry was made and submitted to the company. The gasoline price increase is most likely to be caused by the fact that at the refineries the factory price went up. But on the other hand, the experts of the Primorsky Territory Department of Federal Antimonopoly Service points out that the increase in retail prices is only fixed at the Vostoknefteproduct gas stations. The gas stations belonging to other companies did not raise the price recently. If the verification made by the Primorsky Territory Department of Federal Antimonopoly Service proves that the rise in price at the Vostoknefteproduct gas stations is ill-founded, the company may be prosecuted and fined. They may pay out the amount that makes up 1% of the company's last year sales turnover. There are some precedents for it. Thus, in October of year 2009 the RF Federal Antimonopoly Service imposed on the Rosneft Company an unprecedented penalty of 5.3 billion Rubles for breaking of the antimonopoly law. </yandex:full-text>

The drill rods were held over at the border, a stiff customs duty was imposed on the equipment and the duty-paid was not returned either

<yandex:full-text> VLADIVOSTOK, August 20, vladivostoktimes.com The erection of "Sakhalin - Khabarovsk - Vladivostok" gas main is keeping pace rapidly. But the Primorye Customs may spoil the Vladivostok gasmen’s good performance for a "ha’porth of tar"; Alexander OGNEVSKIY, the press secretary of the RF Ministry of Regional Development Far Eastern Directorate reports to RIA PrimaMedia. "Two months ago the consignment of 107 drill rods was held over at a customs station. We need the rods to do horizontal drilling from the Peninsula of Nazimov to the Russkiy Island. Actually they are drilling expendables required for laying a bottom pipe in the Gulf of Bosporus the Eastern. The customs officials identified the drill rods with the drill pipes that are the fixed structural elements required for oil and gas extraction and a stiff customs duty was imposed on the removable equipment. Yet the gasmen could not get the duty-paid rods as the Customs found that the administrative legislation was broken," Alexander OGNEVSKIY says. Since the two-month delay in getting customs clearance for the equipment may produce slower supplying the Russkiy Island with gas, the government body of the Far Eastern Directorate has applied to the Primorye Transport Prosecutor’s Office for a claim against the Customs. </yandex:full-text>
