Presidents Approve of Vladivostok and Manta, Ecuadorian Port, Becoming Sister Cities

The cities Mayors in the presence of Dmitriy MEDVEDEV and Raphael KORREA signed the proper Agreement

VLADIVOSTOK, November 2, vladivostoktimes.com Igor PUSHKAREV, the Head of Vladivostok Administration (Russian Federation), and Haima Estrada BONILLA, the Mayor of Manta (Republic of Ecuador) who is paying the official visit to Russia, signed the Agreement on Sister Cities between the Vladivostok Administration and Manta Municipal Government in the presence of Dmitriy MEDVEDEV, the President of Russia and Raphael KORREA, the President of Ecuador; RIA PrimaMedia informs with reference to the RF President’s press service and the press service of Vladivostok City Administration.

The issues of increasing the cooperation in various fields including the implementation of joint projects in the oil extraction and refining, mining and power industry, military-industrial partnership, agriculture and fishing were discussed during the meeting.

Besides, the presidents exchanged the views on the issues of bilateral cooperation in the international and regional levels, discussed the process of political and economic integration in Latin America.

As a result of the talks Dmitriy MEDVEDEV and Raphael KORREA signed the Declaration on Strategy Cooperation of Russia and Ecuador. Besides, a whole number of joint documents was signed in the presence of Presidents of both states.    

Information (according to Wikipedia): The Manta population is about 250 thousand people. Manta is the sea port. Currently the port of Manta is being modernized and thanks to this renovation Manta may become the largest port in Ecuador.
