VLADIVOSTOK, December 28, vladivostoktimes.com The RF Prime Minister Vladimir PUTIN has arrived in Vladivostok with a two-day business trip, during which he is to take part in the ceremony of ESPO (Eastern Siberia – the Pacific Ocean) oil pipeline launching, to discuss shipbuilding at the Far East and visit “Sollers” car plant.

As the RF Government press-service reported, after arriving in the airport Vladivostok Vladimir PUTIN departed for Nakhodka, where the opening ceremony of a part of the oil pipeline system ESPO took place at the territory of the specialized sea oil-loading port Kozmino.

The main purpose of the ESPO construction is oil shipment from oil-extracting districts of Western and Eastern Siberia to the Far East and APR markets. The construction is held in two stages. Nowadays the first stage – ESPO-1 – has been completed. It includes a branch Tayshet – Skovorodino (length 2.5 thousand km and capacity 30mln tons a year), seven oil transfer pumping stations, specialized sea oil-loading port Kozmino.

After that the Premier was to take part in the ceremony of laying of a semi-submersible rig at the Far Eastern plant “Zvezda” (“Star”) in Bolshoy Kamen city, to get acquainted with the projects on construction of shipyards in Primorye cities Bolshoy Kamen and Fokino. These projects will be implemented together with the South Korean company “Daewoo” and Singapore “Yantai Raffles Shipyard Ltd”

Nowadays shipbuilding and ship-repair enterprises, situated at the Far East, are united in the framework of “The Far Eastern center of shipbuilding and ship repair,” which is a subsidiary of the United shipbuilding corporation. It is supposed that liquid heavy tonnage vessels, modern sea gas and oil-extracting platforms will be built on new shipyards.

Also the Prime Minister has held the meeting on development of the Far Eastern shipbuilding industry.

In the evening the Premier has visited the All-Russian children’s center “Ocean” and got acquainted with the results of the first stage of introduction of digital broadcasting at the Far East.

On Tuesday Mr. PUTIN is to visit the car plant “Sollers – Far East,” which was built in the framework of the project on construction of the car manufacturing facilities at the Far East.

The project foresees construction of the car plant of the complete cycle for launching not less than 10 thousand cars in 2010 with the forecast of outputting 40 thousand cars in 2012. Korean offroaders Ssang Yong, Japanese trucks, specialized cars on basis of Fiat Ducato, and also special version of UAZ offroaders are to be manufactured there.
