"Golden Carp" Gets to Vladivostok

The artists will draw with a broom on ice

VLADIVOSTOK, January 13, vladivostoktimes.com The action art “Golden Carp” is to be held on ice of the Vladivostok Sportivnaia Gavan. It is arranged by the art society “33+1” and the Vladivostok City Administration; RIA PrimaMedia reports.

In the framework of the project an outline drawing of golden carp which comes to confirm that all wishes made by the Vladivostok residents on the New Year’s Eve would become true is to appear on ice; it will cover over 25 square hectares. Besides, it is an action art: about 10 artists will fill the pails with the sea-water from ice holes, dissolve paint and draw with a broom on ice. The fishermen waiting for the fish to be caught will give the action a special color.

The artists will work on Saturday, January 16 from 12 p.m. until 8 p.m. The presentation is to take place on Sunday, January17 at 2 p.m.
