VLADIVOSTOK, January 26, vladivostoktimes.com In 2009 the first mooring was completely overhauled, 3 000 square meters of storage facilities were repaired and over 5 000 square meters of new storage facilities were built in the Commercial Port Posiet; the press service of the Primorsky Territory Administration reported to RIAPrimaMedia.

It makes possible to increase the port capacity twice.

As the Primorsky Territory Department of Industry and Transport reports, in 2010 the port reconstruction is to go on in Posiet: the second mooring will be modernized and lengthened. All port terminals are fitted out with the high-technology equipment.

All works is to be completed until 2011. After reconstruction the Posiet Port can receive the 60,000-ton vessels. Its freight turnover will increase from 3 million to 7 million tons.

According to the experts, nowadays the southern Primorye is the starting point of transport network development in the Russian Far East and its integration with international transport complex. The reconstruction of sea ports can make the Russian Far East more attractive for partners from the North-East Asia and bring the Southern Primorye to the international market.
