VLADIVOSTOK, January 29, vladivostoktimes.com Executive Committee of Olympic Committee of Russia (OCR) approved the list of sportsmen who are in the national team and who will defend the honor of the country at XXI winter Olympic Games in Canada. The team members are 175 Olympians in different kinds of sport. The sportsmen will represent 31 regions of the country; two of them – speed skater Yulia NEMAYA and skier Aleksandr PANZHINSKIY – are from Khabarovsk Territory. The team includes 51 honored masters of sports, 72 masters of sports of international class, 41 masters of sports, 10 candidates for master of sports and one sportsmen of the first class. Moscow sent thegreatest number of sportsmen – 37 people; Moscow Area – 27, Nizhegorodskaya Area – 11. The official list of the sportsmen will be published on February 1, on the same day when the International Olympic Committee will get the application from Russia. After this day, Russia will be able to change the members of the team only according to medical conditions. And it will be necessary to get permission of the International Olympic Committee and international federation of a particular sport. Russia saw off its team on Poklonnaya Gora on January 28. There was solemn ceremony there after which the sportsmen, honored guests and sports veterans went to the church of St. George the Victorious for a prayer service. Other articles in this section
