VLADIVOSTOK, February 5, vladivostoktimes.com The deputy chairman of the Sakhalin Area Administration Sergey KHOTOCHKIN and the representatives of a Japanese company “Mitsui and Co Ltd” had a business meeting on February 4. Opening the meeting Sergey KHOTOCHKIN reported about some changes in Area executive bodies which happened because of the administrative reform, as the Sakhalin Area Administration press service reported to RIA PrimaMedia. The deputy chairman noted that at the first Sakhalin Area Administration meeting the Governor Aleksandr KHOROSHAVIN named the main goals and task which regional authorities must solve and achieve. They include economic diversification, improvement of raw materials processing and development of engineering infrastructure to attract investment. In their turn the “Mitsui and Co Ltd” representatives noted that Japan still has great interest in Sakhalin Area. It concerns both the projects on hydrocarbon production and processing and some other economic industries The parties exchanged their opinions on current economic situation in the region and in the world and agreed to continue collaboration between regional authorities and “Mitsui and Co Ltd”.
