Moscow and Washington, DC Collaborate on Project of "RF Electronic Government" Formation

Partnership will continue in sphere of Internet safety

VLADIVOSTOK, February 28, vladivostoktimes.com Russia and the USA will collaborate on creation of electronic government of RF and on internet safety. As RIA PrimaMedia reports with the reference to Newsru.com, the press release of American Embassy in Moscow says it.  It was announced after the meeting between the head of technical department of the White House Anash Chopra and the RF Vice Prime Minister Sergey Sobyanin.

The collaboration will continue in such areas as struggle against corruption, people trade, health care system improvement, and educational opportunities for students and teachers. Besides, the USA plans to start several projects on creation of business in Saint Petersburg and Novosibirsk. “We recommend the officials of Internet companies like eBay, Cisco, Mozilla, EDventure, Howcast, Twitter, Social Gaming Network and Katalyst to come to Moscow in June 2010 for the meeting with the Russian officials to establish collaboration on struggle against cyber-crimes” the press release says.

The representative of the US National Security Council Howard Solomon reports that collaboration on these issues is “a part of the “restart” policy” with the goal to establish good relationship.”

“We need multilateral relation. This is national interest of the USA” Solomon said. He noted that unlike 90th years, today they don’t speak about financial help from Washington, DC, to Russia. “We are not going to give money” he said. We would remind you that the conception of the electronic government developed in the USA since 1993 stresses the dialog between the official and people. It stipulates enlargement of the list of provided services, liberation of officials from habitual work, and interactive communication with the people.

The program “Electronic Russia 2002-2010” proved to be unsuccessful. Its goal was to overcome technological underdevelopment and to turn the country from raw supplier to the exporter of program informational products.  One of the main tasks of this program was openness of departments and ministries.

Now it’s possible that they will take people’s opinion into consideration. After the project is developed, it will be discussed by all participants concerned about the formation of electronic government.
