VLADIVOSTOK, March 4, vladivostoktimes.com The International Airport of Vladivostok governing body summed up the past year work. Although there is a decline in this economic sector the JSC International Airport of Vladivostok succeeded in increasing of its finances in all kinds of activity, the passenger traffic grew and the company could invest 65mln Rubles into material and technical assets. “We could keep our activities up with the rates of the year 2008 when the world did not face the crisis yet,” Maxim CHETVERIKOV, the General Director of the JSC International Airport of Vladivostok notes. “The total profits in the sector declined by 9.5%. But in the last six months of the year 2009 the passenger traffic in the Vladivostok airport increased by 6% in comparison with the same rates of the corresponding period in 2008. It became possible thanks to the fact that now we are licensed for service of Airbuses, the wide-body airliners, besides we involved new carrier companies and one more partnership – Aeroflot Company. Just in December, 2009 the passenger traffic growth came up to 20%. We also tried to optimize the flight schedule and find more suitable connections between flights and so the transfer component was improved by about 5%,” he says. To succeed in increasing of its finances the company is trending to expand the range of services and improve their quality. They open the departure lounge of the superior comfort, medical station, aircraft consumer service center and are going to be licensed for the air-navigation and navigator’s support of flights.
